Hello everyone! Here is the video and transcript for my Youtube video titled 8 Years of Life. This one is really a great opportunity for you to get to know me more. Enjoy the video and tidied transcript!
Before I start this properly, I just want to say thank you so much to those people who have commented and reached out saying that you're happy to see me. It's it's good to be back. As a British man I didn't take any of the compliments but I really do appreciate it anyway. It's very very sweet of you. Honestly, it's a great segway towards this topic, which is what I've been up to since I last did a video. And it turns out the last time I did a video was not 5 years. Last time I did a proper video, a YouTube video blog, was 8 years ago. So, a lot has happened in eight years. It does appear as though a lot has happened to you guys as well. I just love hearing these things um about what you've been up to in the last eight years. I I've already had one person tell me, "Oh, Sean, I really love Two Housemates. it was written so well and I really loved it and and now I've just shown my kid it." So that was humbling. Humbling to say the least.
Biggest thing is that I've got a dog now. He is wonderful and a complete anus.
'Leo, is that the only puddle in the park? Excellent'. His name is Leo. He is a cocker-spaniel. He is adorable and wonderful and lovely. And now that he's four and a half, he has started tolerating my incessant kisses and cuddles. Can't help it. I just see his little face, his happy little face, and I just have to kiss him straight on the forehead cuz he's adorable and he's gorgeous, and he is such an anus. His version of playing ball to which he will wake me up at 7:00 a.m. to go and play. His version is we'll go into the garden, he will lay down and watch me kick a ball for about 5 minutes. So that's been good fun.
And within the eight years obviously I've learned more about myself. I've learned how to figure out if I'm uncomfortable in group situations or with someone, instead of tolerating it and then coming home in a really bad mood and I don't know why. That's been really useful.
I've learned more about who I am as a person and kind of like what I enjoy as
as a person, as an entity, as as a sexual being. I dated a woman who ended up being a bat, and I caused a um a small lockdown.
Talking about mental health, I went to therapy, you know what? I highly recommend. A lot of men need to go to therapy and figure some stuff out. It was really really good. I highly recommend it. I can go into it more in the future, but I think one of my favorite things to be able to say is that yes it worked out really well for me. I really found it useful. But my therapist got way too used to me, he saw me as a as a friend. I would talk about doing a series and stuff like that and he then ended up showing me his music videos for his heavy metal band and he once stopped me mid-sentence while I was talking about my family so he could crush up his Red Bull and throw it in the bin. 'Watch this. Bang. You're cured.' It was amazing. One of the biggest reasons I went to therapy, obviously, I really needed it, but is that I was terrified to leave the house or I would try and convince myself not to do things that I really really wanted to do. One of the major things was that um, a beautiful friend of mine who I regard as a sister was getting married in Paris.
It was very It was exactly how it sounded. I won't go into it too much, but it was amazing. You don't really notice how little money you have until you're sitting at a table and having a conversation with the person opposite you and we're we're both querying whether the fruit on the table is plastic or not cause it just looked beautiful. It looked it looked exactly what I think plastic fruit would try and imitate. Do you know what I mean? I'm really really proud of of my friend and it was a beautiful wedding. Absolutely beautiful.
I also saw one of my like bestest mates get married as well, which was an absolutely beautiful situation. As I talk about this, no, I haven't got married myself. I don't know if you could tell.
That's kind of like the most major things. I'm sure there's loads of things I've missed or is admittedly too private to talk about. Um, I've actually got a happy wall. I I'll talk one day I'll talk you through the happy wall. I would absolutely love to hear what you guys have been up to.
Um, and uh, yeah, next one next video is going to be what I've been up to workwise, which is always I I find more interesting and enjoyable. But um I would absolutely love to hear what you guys have been up to in the last eight years.
Anyway, I hope you're having a really really lovely day. Um love you very much and I'll see you soon.
Sean x
